About Siolim:

Tourists always passed through Siolim village, on the south bank of the Chapora River, on their way to catch the ferry to the deserted beaches of Morjim, Mandrem and Arambol. This sprawling village has a strategic importance in the area with a busy fish and vegetable market but remains very untouristy.Tourist hotels are unknown here although the very popular beaches and restaurants of Anjuna, Vagator, and the deserted beaches of Morjim and Mandrem are all no more than a 10 minute drive away. The area has many grand old houses contrasting with the smaller colourful fishing hamlets dotted along the river bank where ladies sell shell fish and the local catch of the day.
